November RemARKable Blog Tour

Welcome to this month's RemARKable Blog Tour.  If you haven't already guessed, this month it's all about CHRISTMAS!

I am a hoarder collector of items that can be reused and/or re-purposed.  For vegetable cans, I use one of those can openers that cuts the side of the lid so there's no sharp edges.  As you can imagine, I have quite a supply of lids so I decided to use one to create an ornament.  I was afraid just using paper, the ornament could be damaged easier so the lid would make it less fragile.

I began by cutting two disks using the largest circle from the Stitched Shapes Framelits dies.

To create the back piece, I wiped the one circle with the Embossing Buddy and stamped the "Tidings of Comfort and Joy" in Versamark and then embossed it with Gold embossing powder and set it aside.

To make a hanger, I cut a short piece of 1/8" Gold ribbon and attached it to the flat side of the lid with glue dots.  I attached the back piece over the hanger using Tear & Tape.

To create the front piece, I cut the "pine" pieces from Garden Green card stock, the "berry" pieces from Cherry Cobbler card stock, and the "pine cones" from Early Espresso and Soft Suede card stock.

I attached the pieces to the second Whisper White circle with the Fine-tip Glue Pen.  From the Peaceful Pines stamp set, I stamped "Tis the Season" in Early Espresso.  I added a bow made from the 1/8" Gold ribbon to the top of the pine cones using a glue dot.

Because there is an indented side and a flat side to the lid, I used dimensionals to fill in the space to attach the front piece and attached the finished front piece to the lid.

I hope you enjoyed my project.  Please proceed to Tracie's blog to see what she has created!!

Thanks for stopping by,
Connie
